I was walking down the street in Seattle today and was approached by a young man asking me to donate to the League of Conservation Voters. He was full of energy and enthusiasm for the cause he was promoting. I stopped and chatted with him about what the League of Conservation was all about. The LCV’s mission is to advocate for sound environmental policies and to elect pro-environmental candidates who will adopt and implement such policies. In less than 4 days over 10,000 youth leaders will converge on Washington D.C. for the Power Shift 09 conference. This will mark the largest climate change lobbyist group to ever assemble in US history. These highly organized youth will network, educate, share strategies and lobby congress to take aggressive steps to address climate change…fostering [...] You would expect the oil rich countries like Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) of the Middle East to be an unlikely hot spot for green industry.
