Yesterday Seattle hosted the last of only two public EPA hearings on climate change at pier 66 on the Seattle waterfront. The hearings were designed to allow public comment on the impact of global warming and pollution to public health and welfare. Explorer and founder of Adventure Ecology, David de Rothschild is busy building a 60 ft catamaran out of recycled plastic and water bottles. The boat named Plastiki has an ambitious voyage planned, taking it 11,500 miles from San Francisco to Sydney. You would expect the oil rich countries like Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) of the Middle East to be an unlikely hot spot for green industry.
